Over 200 Students Will Shine at the Upcoming Learning For Life Talent Show

Learning For Life’s Got Talent Show to be held Friday May 6th 2011 at the Cypress Lake High School Auditorium 6750 Panther Lane Fort Myers, Florida  33919. Showtime is at 6 PM.  Tickets at the door are $5, children under 5 are free.   Cash and checks only will be accepted at the door.  All Proceeds benefit Learning for Life. Concessions will be available for purchase and are provided by Rita’s Ice Custard and Mister Weiner’s Hotdogs.

The Talent show will feature over 200 local students from elementary through high school performing in a variety of categories.  The Talent show will feature solo vocalists, dance, choir, and theater for a total of over 25 performances.  The Schools represented are:  Elementary schools - Sunshine, Orangewood, Three Oaks, Pelican, North Fort Myers Academy of the Arts, Veterans Park Academy of the Arts and Ray V. Pottorf. The Middle Schools represented are: Lexington, Challenger and Three Oaks.  The high Schools represented are Fort Myers and North Fort Myers.

The judges for this talent show include Mr. Mark Castellano, Mrs. Katherine Shortlidge, Mr. Paco Dolz and Patty Stallsmith. Judges will determine award recipients in the categories of: Best Over-all Music, Best Over-all Dance, Best Over-all Theatre and Best Over-all Vocal.

The emcees for the evening are: Mr. Chad Oliver - weekday anchor on the ABC7 Morning News and Mrs. Stacey Deffenbaugh - anchors weekend mornings on NBC2 and is the NBC2 justice correspondent. The Pledge of Allegiance will be lead by the Dunbar High School Color Guard’s 1^st Sergeant Hart. The National anthem will be sung by Tatum Torchia – Lexington Middle School. There will also be a special performance by the Calendar Girls Florida.
