The Dunbar Festival Committee, a non profit 501 C 3 organization is comprised of volunteers from our community have been working diligently in planning the 2010 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration.  This annual celebration, one of the largest in the South draws thousands of citizens from the Southwest Florida community and beyond.  This year's celebration will have a "Multicultural Flavor" through the talent displayed throughout the afternoon.  The celebration will take place Saturday, January 16th through Monday, January 18th.  Please see the enclosed schedule of events.

Our theme for this year's celebration is:  "Dr. King's Dream: Moving Communities Forward."  We hope that you will join us in celebrating Dr. King's legacy.

One special event that we will be conducting this year is a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Dinner & Dance Program.  Proceeds from this event will be used to award a male student the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship and a female student the Rosa Parks Scholarship.  This event will be held at the Riverside Community Center.

The Dunbar Festival Committee is soliciting your financial support in helping us to make this year's celebration a success.  All of the names of our sponsors will be placed on banners throughout Centennial Park and promoted to our Southwest Florida community in attendance at the celebration.  We are asking for the following financial support amounts, however any donation would be greatly appreciated.
