Backyard BBQ School

By Emmett Todd
Backyard BBQ School is a contract vendor with Lee County, and is held at the Lodge at Lakes Park in Fort Myers, Florida. The Lodge is a screened in shelter with ceiling fans and restrooms. Each class will be no larger than 16 people to maintain intimacy and personal attention.

The class is 3 hours long beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 2:00 pm. Each hour has 2 different topics lasting 40 minutes, a 10 minute temperature control period when we make sure our "Pits" are at the proper temperature, and a 10 minute break. During the break period, refreshments will be available to keep everyone going until the "Q de Gras." That means the end, or "let's eat some BBQ."

The tuition fee is $65 plus tax per person. This includes the class and a BBQ buffet. Our "Pass on Gas" T-Shirts are available for $20/each. Registration is available at the Lee County Parks website.
