LEE MEMORIAL HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION TO HOST WEEKEND OF EVENTS


PROCEEDS TO SUPPORT LOCAL CANCER PATIENTS

Lee Memorial Health System Foundation will host its annual "Key to the Cure" Celebration in partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue at The Bell Tower Shops this Thursday, Oct. 20 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
The special event, which will take place at the Saks Fifth Avenue Bell Tower location in Fort Myers, is complimentary to attend and includes wine selections, dining by the bite featuring Mediterranean bruschetta, Caribbean meatballs and teriyaki chicken by Chef J of "Chef J's Bistro".  Sweet selections for the evening include chocolates by Norman Love Confections and cupcakes by Gracie's.
Humanitarian Awards will be given to members of the community who have been instrumental in the fight against cancer or have shown outstanding support of those battling the disease.  
Guests can preview holiday and resort collections and "shop for cause" as two percent of total store sales through Sunday, Oct. 23 will benefit programs and treatments at Lee Memorial Health System's Regional Cancer Center in Fort Myers.  A silent auction and a chance drawing for a $2,500 Ippolita jewelry ensemble complete the evening.
The fun continues at the Betty & Frank Bireley "Ribbons & Blues" event on Sunday, Oct. 23 from 5:30pm-9:00pm at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center located at 2301 First Street in Fort Myers .  Tickets are $100 per person (other sponsorships available, please inquire).  Enjoy a great selection of food by Chef J & the Oasis Charter School, gourmet chocolates by Norman Love Confections, fruit selection by Edible Arrangements, wine, entertainment featuring Broadway music review by Mark Sanders & Lee VanAsten, R&B Band featuring Ernie Cantu, stilt walkers, a live art demonstration by Mel Meo, vodka bar and specialty drink "Ribbontini" sponsored by The Joint, live and silent auction, and the opportunity to bid on silk ties and other items designed by celebrities and artists.  Featured artist Darryl Pottorf has created a special work for auction at the evening and famed jeweler Mark Loren has created a "Hope" pendant featuring a beautiful John Dyer cut kite-shaped citrine.  Pottorf's work will be featured in the evening's live auction and Loren's work will be gifted to the winner of a chance drawing. Drawing tickets are $50 apiece.
